{"id":473,"date":"2013-12-04T19:31:49","date_gmt":"2013-12-05T01:31:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mikesmods.com\/mm-wp\/?p=473"},"modified":"2013-12-30T18:51:46","modified_gmt":"2013-12-31T00:51:46","slug":"miscellaneous-updates-2013-12-04","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mikesmods.com\/mm-wp\/?p=473","title":{"rendered":"Miscellaneous updates, 2013-12-04"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oops!\u00a0 I told myself I would update this site at least once a month.\u00a0 As you can easily see, I haven&#8217;t quite kept up with that desire.\u00a0 Things have picked up in my professional life and I have not had nearly as much time lately to tinker with this stuff.\u00a0 But here&#8217;s what&#8217;s going on.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>iPad simple interface:<\/strong>\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Currently out of stock<\/span>.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve sold all of my first-run boards and have not ordered more.\u00a0 Sources for some of the components used have dried up, and I may need to change the board to accomodate replacements.\u00a0 Additionally, based on the results of the Macbook board, I might want to add some small power supplies to the board to alleviate the need to provide two precisely regulated rails.\u00a0 There is currently no ETA on this.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Macbook board<\/strong>:\u00a0 Hasn&#8217;t been touched since the previous post.\u00a0 Lack of time, unfortunately.<\/li>\n<li><strong>iPad digitizer research<\/strong>:\u00a0 Starting up again.\u00a0 The next &#8220;real&#8221; post may well be on this topic.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Other in-progress projects<\/strong>:\u00a0 No further progress.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Metalworking<\/strong>:\u00a0 I am now the proud owner of a Precision Matthews PM-932M mill\/drill machine, so one of these days I&#8217;m planning a new series on making metal widgets.\u00a0 Stay tuned for that.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also please note:\u00a0 The server on which this site resides is due for major hardware changes in the next week or two.\u00a0 Expect downtime of up to a day or two while new hardware is installed and configured.\u00a0 I suspect I&#8217;ll be too lazy to put up a &#8220;down for maintenance&#8221; message, so this will be the only warning.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t worry, unless there&#8217;s some major hardware issue the site will be back soon.\u00a0 <strong>[Edit: Complete.]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So that&#8217;s where I&#8217;m at.\u00a0 No real news to pass, but it&#8217;s high time I posted &#8220;something&#8221; so folks don&#8217;t think this site is abandoned.\u00a0 Hopefully the new year will bring more time to work on some of these in-progress half-finished projects.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll see.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oops!\u00a0 I told myself I would update this site at least once a month.\u00a0 As you can easily see, I haven&#8217;t quite kept up with that desire.\u00a0 Things have picked up in my professional life and I have not had nearly as much time lately to tinker with this stuff.\u00a0 But here&#8217;s what&#8217;s going on.
